In most cases no. A garden pod is usually covered by permitted development when it stays within the limits on size, height and boundary distance and is not used as a separate dwelling. We check your specific site, as conservation areas and listed buildings can differ.
A PrefabX garden pod starts from £25,000 for the Studio, fully fitted and installed, with finance from around £160 a month. The price is fixed and all inclusive, covering insulation, heating, electrics and plumbing.
The terms overlap. Pod usually describes a smaller, single room building, while garden room is the broader term. A PrefabX modular home works as either, built to the same insulated, fully fitted standard rather than as a lightweight pod.
Yes. Unlike many basic pods, the modular home uses 85mm integrated insulation and skirting heating, so it is comfortable in winter and summer alike and can be used every day of the year.
