How the modular home is being used right now.

The same engineered building, delivered finished and put to work in very different ways. Here is a selection of recent projects.

Their own space on the family farm, up in a few weeks

A home of their own in weeks, not months

Wanting to stay close for the farm and family but still have a place of their own, this customer went looking for a housing solution and came to the modular home after living in a static caravan. They viewed the show home, said yes, and a few weeks later their new home was finished and ready, to a far higher standard than anything comparable they had seen.

  • A complete, self contained home
  • Finished to a standard above a static caravan
  • Viewed and chosen from the show home
  • Delivered and finished in a few weeks
“To remain at home for the farm and my family but still wanting my own space I went in search of a housing solution. After extensive research and hours Googling I came across PrefabX. Their buildings caught my eye straight away. Definitely a better option than a static caravan (which I've lived in before) and the standard of finish is much higher than anything similar on the market. After I had viewed the show home and decided it was a yes everything was very straight forward. Ben, Rob and Dale were there to answer any questions along the way and the process a breeze. Just a few weeks later my new home was up and it was everything I'd hoped for.” A farm family home

A full three bedroom family home on a rural plot

A family home for a fraction of a site build

A couple with a plot in the countryside wanted a proper family home, not a static caravan, and were quoted well over £100,000 for a traditional build. Two modular home units were joined into one wide bungalow with more than 80 square metres of finished space.

  • Three bedrooms, two bathrooms
  • Over 80 square metres finished
  • Super insulated for year round comfort
  • Fixed price, no overruns

A garden office and studio at the end of the lawn

A proper room, not a shed

Working from home full time meant the spare room was no longer enough. The Studio gave a warm, properly insulated room with its own bathroom, ready to use the same week it arrived, with no planning headache.

  • Insulated room with its own bathroom
  • Heated by the discreet ThermaSkirt skirting system, no bulky radiators
  • Minimal foundations, no wet trades
  • In use the same week

Birmingham PrefabX Hub

Site offices and welfare for a long running project

A reusable asset, not a hire bill

A contractor needed comfortable, secure site accommodation that would not look like a row of tired portable cabins. The open Hub layout was fitted out as offices and a welfare space, then relocated to the next site once the job finished.

  • Open plan office and welfare space
  • Heated and insulated to a real building standard
  • Secure, weatherproof envelope
  • Relocatable to the next project

A coastal café and retail unit, trading in days

Trading before the summer season

A seaside operator wanted to open a café and small retail space before the summer season, with no time for a traditional fit out. The Hub arrived as a finished shell and was trading within weeks of delivery.

  • Open trading floor, fitted to brief
  • Power and plumbing pre installed
  • Premium finish that photographs well
  • Open before the season started

Staff accommodation that staff actually want

Guest grade rooms for the team

A busy holiday park struggled to house seasonal staff in comfort. A run of Annexe units gave each team member a real bedroom, bathroom and living space, finished to the same standard as the guest accommodation.

  • Two bedrooms and a bathroom per unit
  • Warm and quiet, heated by skirting
  • Identical guest grade finish
  • Added in days, not a build season

Inside the finished build

This is what arrives, finished.

Proper lighting, warmth from the skirting and a finish that feels like a real home, not a bare box. These are interiors from recent installs, photographed the week they were handed over. The kitchens shown were added to order.

In every install

The same standard, every time.

Whether it is a family home or a row of staff units, every install lands with the same finish, the same comfort, and the same fixed price promise.

Discrete ThermaSkirt skirting heating

No bulky radiators on the walls. The discrete ThermaSkirt skirting heating system from Discrete Heat runs warmth quietly around the room. Around £2,000 of comfort, built in and included in the building cost.

A finished interior, not a shell

Bathroom, electrics, plumbing and finishes are all fitted at the factory. A bare shell is worth around £15,000. Every install here arrives complete.

Installed in 2 to 3 days

The building ships folded and unfolds on your prepared site in days. Site prep runs in parallel, so there is no dead time waiting for trades.

Fixed price from £25,000

The price we quote is the price you pay. A finished Annexe is £30,000, whether you choose separate rooms or open plan living. No overruns, ever.
